Once Human is fashionista-friendly apocalyptic survival game with base building elements that make you feel like you’re playing The Sims 4.
Once Human specializes in having different scenarios that you can hop in and grind out solo or with friends for 5-6 phases (about 1 week each in length).
At the time of this writing, Once Human has (6) scenarios available to play:
PVE:
- Early Access – Deviated Secure
- Manibus
- Endless Dream
- The Way of Winter
PVP:
- Prismverse’s Clash
- Evolutions Call

And recently released custom servers and permanent scenario servers. As a game that had extensive early game access and pre-launch presence, its always been interesting to see what OH has come up with since it’s debut in July 2024.
Fast forward to the early access, beta of Deviant Secure, OH’s newest scenario which turns your deviations into the heart of your fireteam!
You can run around with up to 3 deviations, all out at the same time—a gamechanger!
This scenario introduces the ability to craft deviations through a process called ‘fusion’. You can use Fusion to create deviations with specific traits, techniques (skills) and further personalize your team to work for you.
First Impressions of the Deviant Secure Scenario (Early Access)
Maybe that’s the nature of a beta, but having little to no information made playing this scenario really hard in the beginning.
Early on, it was hard going. When the first Phase opened up, there were 50 Chaos Codes available for purchase at each of the gyms. It was a limit of 2 per person, and it cost 300 coins. Needless to say, most of the server did not understand this mechanic and so it led to many people getting the 2 cap and showing it off in the servers. It felt horrible playing in Phase 1 with that mechanic.
Then, the server decided to soothe themselves, by saying that the next phase would bring the ability to craft chaos codes and maybe even another chance to purchase chaos codes. The purchasing of chaos codes did NOT happen and that caused another wave of pain. But something new DID come out of Phase 2, the chaos codes started to drop from the Chaos Arena Bosses!

Her focus: Lifting the team UP while knockin foes DOWN! Her ult, Cat Gathering takes care of the team and her attacks knocks enemies down, so my chaosaurus can burn them with Flame Jet:
Then, in Phase 3, we could fight at the Snowsprite Arena for the Chaos Snow Sprite!
And thus, my beautiful 3-deviation fireteam was born!
My Current Rating of the Scenario in Early Access
Running around, with my larger-sized deviations has warmed my heart up SO much. Its the experience I’ve been wanting since I first laid eyes on the deviations and how helpful they are in our bases in other scenarios — more ways to interact with them for a longer time.
Here your deviations run around with you for as long as you want.
I do wish the map access was larger. That’s one reason I retired my main character to a permanent server in Endless Dream – access to the ENTIRE map. In Deviant Secure, you get limited access (— this may change!).
To make this experience more nurturing to players – we definitely just needed more information up front. Call us dramatic, but it was harrowing to see the cutie Chaos Extradimensional Cat AND the Chaos Snow Sprite and feel let down that we’d missed out on their Chaos Codes until the last phase! A simple mention of how things worked would have helped with overall resolve and take better care of the players.
For those that forgave this or it didn’t really matter to them and stuck around – Phase 2 brought a much better experience, even though we found ourselves grinding for chaos codes. For each arena boss, it could take a LOT of runs. Some reported not receiving anything (felt like 1% of people said this vs. who DID) but, in my experience, my chaos code runs looked like this:
Chaos Extradimensional Cat: 120 runs
Team Comp: Snow Globe, Snail, Polar Jelly
Equivalent to:
- Around 3,600 Victory Badges
- and 224,000 Energy Links (EL)
Chaosaurus: 47 runs
Chao Snow Sprite: ~10 runs
Team Comp: lvl 47 Snow Globe, Snail, Polar Jelly
What’s Helpful in the Beginning
So, sharing a couple notes on how to get started in deviant secure
If this isn’t your first scenario…here’s what to bring in your Interdimensional Backpack.
Remember to use the Account Depot in Eternaland if you plan to make a new character or bring an alternative/not as used character to this scenario. You will want to bring a few materials. I did not do all of these things but, saw how others chose these methods for early success.
- Bring over the kickstart basics:
- Chainsaw
- Electric Drill
- Metal scraps
- …?
- Bring over enough tungsten or aluminum to create Tier IV and Tier V binding grenades (what you use to capture the deviations in the wild). You want to capture the highest level Deviations possible to improve chances in the wild and in the Chaos Arena Bosses.
Things to note – (May be different after Beta)
- Tier 3 and up materials were locked during Phase 1;
- Commissions were opened for all 4 weeks for some users in the beginning so they got to level 50 faster. Others of us only had 1 week; this was enough to pull us through to 20s-30s;
- You can’t bring in weapons or use mods; (No Boom Boom builds here, for example). You have to craft the weapons
- Looting crates in POIs important for Binding Cores and getting new weapon blueprints from the Mystical Crates
Weapons are Scenario-specific
